Holiday Email Calendar 2026: What to Send from BFCM to Christmas

October 2, 2026

A 2026 holiday email calendar tells you what to send, not only how to staff it

A holiday email calendar for 2026 maps each send from late November through New Year to one job: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas gifting, shipping cutoffs, and the week after, so creative is briefed before production fills up. Our peak season production and BFCM production guides cover capacity and QA. This page is the sequence of email types marketers actually need on the calendar.

Dates below are for 2026 in the US unless noted. Lock HTML earlier than the send date. In our studio, a new holiday hero usually needs a brief freeze several business days before upload, plus inbox QA, not a same-day Figma-to-ESP hop.

At The Better Creative, we plan December modules against this kind of calendar so you are not inventing a new template every morning of Cyber Week.

Key takeaways

  • Thanksgiving is not Black Friday. 26 Nov is gratitude, hours, and shipping. 27 Nov is the sale.
  • Brief freeze beats last-minute heroes. Design systems scale. One-off files in peak week do not.
  • Give each date one job. Early access, public sale, last chance, Cyber Monday leftovers, and Christmas gifting should not share one layout.
  • Cutoff emails are their own row. Do not hide order-by dates inside a gift guide.

Use this as a production-facing calendar. Adjust send times to your list and time zones. Keep the jobs even if you drop a row.

When creative must freeze before each send

Work backward from the send. A module already in your system can move in 24-48 hours after copy is final. A new hero, dark-mode rules, and inbox QA need more. If you are still designing Black Friday on 25 Nov, you are already in fire-drill mode. Use email design briefs so approvers sign the job of the send, not a mood board, before HTML starts.

One library should cover the table: hero, product, proof, cutoff, footer. Swap copy and photography. That is the point of a modular email design system. The calendar fails when every date becomes a unique file.

Frequently asked questions

What is a holiday email calendar?

A holiday email calendar lists each seasonal send by date and job, from early access through New Year, so teams brief the right layout instead of reusing one sale template for every day.

When is Black Friday 2026?

Friday 27 November 2026, the day after Thanksgiving on Thursday 26 November. Cyber Monday is 30 November. Giving Tuesday is 1 December.

How far ahead should holiday email be designed?

Module systems should exist before November. Final copy and photography can land closer to send, but new heroes and dark-mode rules should not start the week of Black Friday.

Do we need a unique template for every date?

No. You need unique hierarchy and copy. Shared header, product, and footer modules scale. Unique files for every morning of Cyber Week do not.

Does The Better Creative plan holiday email calendars?

Yes. We design the modules behind the calendar-pricing from $150 per email with no subscription required. Share your 2026 send list when you reach out.
